Preventing the Need for Dentures

Posted .

Dentures, sets of fake teeth, are used by a number of of our patients. And while false teeth are a great option if you are missing teeth, a number of our patients have confided in us that they’re unhappy they let their pearly whites get to the point of needing false teeth. If you have any missing chompers, complete or partial false teeth could be right for you, and we’d be ecstatic to set up a consultation for you. If you still have all of your natural pearly whites, please think about the following guidance.

There are many reasons why people lose chompers and need to get dentures: poor oral hygiene, infrequent dental visits, physical damage, acid reflux, high blood pressure, advanced age and more. The greatest way to prevent needing dentures is to maintain a healthy oral hygiene routine.

Keeping a solid hygiene routine means brushing your chompers with fluoride toothpaste twice a day, flossing once a day and visiting our office for cleanings and checkups often. To decrease your risk of forming gum disease and decaying teeth, avoid tobacco, limit alcohol intake and look out for sugary foods and drinks.

We want all of our patients to enjoy their natural pearly whites for life. If for any reason you do need to get dentures, don’t fret: they can be comfortable, attractive and powerful replacements for natural chompers.
